Have you ever experienced a moment so profound that it stays with you, resurfacing when you least expect it? Recently, I was reminded of such a moment from my past. It took place over 15 years ago when I was working at a bank. At the time, my job required frequent travel between branches, which brought me into contact with many coworkers from different locations.
One particular coworker stood out. She was trying desperately to get tickets to a John Edward show. For those unfamiliar, John Edward is a renowned psychic medium who connects audience members with their loved ones who have passed away. At that time, I had no idea who he was or why my coworker was so determined to attend his show. Our conversation, however, left me intrigued. She spoke about the challenges of securing tickets—the waitlists, the expense—and her persistent hope of experiencing a reading.
That night, I couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was trying to connect with her. During my morning meditation and automatic writing—a practice where I channel messages—I felt an undeniable presence. Her late husband’s energy came through, and he had messages for her that felt too important to ignore.
I wrote down everything he conveyed, even though I wasn’t sure what to do with the message. The details were specific, personal, and beyond my understanding. He mentioned a train whistle, saying it held significance for her. He reassured her that she didn’t need John Edward to connect with him; he was always around her.
The next day, I mustered the courage to share this experience with her. I explained my gift and how I felt compelled to pass along her husband’s words. She was surprised but receptive. When I handed her the letter, she read it with tears streaming down her face. She told me about the train whistle—how, years ago, she would hear it moments before her husband arrived home from work. It had become their signal of connection, and even after his passing, hearing that sound brought her comfort.
That letter affirmed what she had always felt but hadn’t fully embraced: her husband’s enduring presence in her life. It gave her a sense of peace, reminding her that their bond transcended the physical world.
This experience taught me a profound truth: our loved ones continue to guide and support us, often sending signs if we remain open to them. Signs can take many forms—a familiar song, a butterfly, a cardinal, a rainbow, or a moment that stops you in your tracks. They invite us to pause, reflect, and remember those who have passed yet remain energetically connected to us.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your loved ones are watching over you, let this story serve as a gentle nudge. Trust your intuition and the signs that resonate with your heart. Whether it’s a whisper on the wind or the sight of something that feels inexplicably familiar, know that you are surrounded by love—both seen and unseen.
As we navigate the holiday season, a time often filled with both joy and longing, I hope this story inspires you to seek and cherish these connections. May you feel abundance, love, and compassion from those around you, both here and beyond. Remember, you are never truly alone.
Wishing you peace and light.
